Why I picked it: The Tragically Hip are a very, very Canadian group, who pepper many of their songs with references to Canadian life and experience, and this is no different. The references to a murder, twenty years for nothing, and other things are all specific references to the case of David Milgaard; wrongly convicted of murder he served twenty years before he was found innocent and released. As an aside, cases like the case of David Milgaard are precisely why I'm opposed to executions.
